The Ignitor Labs Program equips you with the basic knowledge and skills that commercial food equipment service companies are looking for. Upon successful completion of this program, candidates are guaranteed a job interview with a service company. This program has the potential to put candidates in jobs in a matter of weeks.
The 24-hour online training program is comprised of two comprehensive interactive e-learning courses:
An Introduction to the Foodservice Industry (14 hours) The course covers a broad range of topics associated with the restaurant industry including the various types of cooking, holding, refrigeration and warewashing equipment used in commercial foodservice establishments, as well as topics such as food safety and emerging equipment technologies.
CFESA: Basic Technician Training in Electricity, Gas & Steam (10 hours) The course provides the fundamental building blocks needed for a technician to properly troubleshoot and repair commercial food equipment. Topics covered in this course include technical theories and principles associated with electricity, gas & steam as they relate to commercial food equipment, as well as an overview of the various components and test equipment you'll work with as a commercial food equipment repair technician. Once you have successfully completed the two interactive e-learning courses, passed the online final exams for each course, and score a minimum of 70% on the practice proctor exam:
- You will take a proctored exam at an authorized service company nearest your location.
- Upon passing the proctored exam you will have an in-person interview with that service company.
- After you have completed the interview you will be provided access to a database that contains nearly 800 service companies nationwide interested in hiring graduates of this program.
